Warmth of day collides
Winter relents
Wind howls in resistance
Spring will not yet come
Geese fight with season
Wings flapping
Yet each stroke offers little
As I watch them
Sailor like struggle
A Nebraska Nor'easter
Pushing against all
Animate and inanimate
