Thunder

        Thunder

Hear the thunder of hooves
Herd moves from boundary
Feisty energy as they approach
Passing in graceful beauty

Nemo trails far behind
Gathering speed
As he gallops by
Enjoy the grace

Need the grace
In the moment
Draws me to letting go
Once again

Light Echoes

Colorado National Monument

          Light Echoes

Light echoes with shadows
Playful symbiosis upon ridge
Hues of reds and earth tones
Shifting as shadows dance

Scrub dots the horizon
Arid land accommodates a lifestyle
Nature conforms to climate
As Man modifies water flow

Harsh line at water's boundaries
Even as water flows below the surface
Water and life forged
Simplicity of contrast

Drift Down

       Drift Down

Love drifts down
In grace of falling snow
Grace of Aspens quake
In sharp green contrast

Covers the ground
Once again pure
All around
Softness ever new

Serenity

          Serenity

Mallard quietly plies the mountain pond
Serenity in the moment
Stream serenades my spirit
Water peacefully flows
Trout dance on the calm surface
Lullaby of creation's unity
Longings of soul satisfied

Bare Feet

                  Bare Feet

Sun kissing the tops of lilac bushes
Softness of Spring's light opens heart
As pure as daffodil's bloom
Soft as new grass under bare feet

As quickly as softness appeared
Clouds steal the caress
Moment gone so quick
As if lovers passing in the dawn

FIltered

Arabian and Paint Horses in the Early Morning Fog 2017

          Filtered

Filtered morning light
Fog diffuses dawn
Faint silhouette in distance
Find dense moisture dripping

Grass bent heavy
Greets bowed with moisture
Gratitude awakens with each step
Grace clings to me

Out of Ashes

Out of Ashes

In the ashes
clank of nails
Clinging to the magnet
Passion of attraction

Intimacy's attachment
Pried off magnet
Five gallon bucket
Half full of nails

Back and forth
Over nine square feet
Invisible force draws metal
Out of the ashes

Thirsty Soul

A pool near Savoy, SD. in Roughlock Falls State Nature Area. Photo taken May 6, 2017.

      Thirsty Soul

Living water gurgling
As rushes over stones
Into limpid pool
Deep beckons me near

Out of the belly flows
Rivers of Living Water
Refreshing the weary
Life to the soul

Invitation to draw near
Tranquility mesmerizes
Thirsty soul drinks deep
Restores life to the soul

Winter Reluctant

         Winter Reluctant

Thoughts settle as now floats down
Another late April blast of Winter
Winter so reluctant to let go

As day progresses snow continues
Covering grass with wet purity
Turning bare patches to mud

Perfect temperature for a walk
In the heavy wetness
heart warm with thoughts of my love

Her brunette hair still captures me
Dark brown eyes, pools of security
Her hand in mine comfortably

Each day that passes a new opportunity
Exploration of beauty I've neglected
Parts long dormant awakened

All by a Spring day in late April
On the high plains of Western Nebraska
A different kind of beauty

Restored

              Restored

False places of comfort
Default scripts run in thoughts
Muscle memory of soul
Unconscious memory of mind
Work in tandem in harmful response

Press into awareness of body
What is my body telling me
What memories are being called upon
Once hidden things exposed to Light
Gentleness and kindness to what is found

Allowing Father's love and tenderness
Peace and rest finally after all these years
Maturity and wholeness, a new way to live
Congruent and complete
Restored
