Tumbleweeds

Sound of wind pushing

 trees sullenly sway

Gray skies of winter

 swirling spits of snow

Nebraska prairie brown

 tumbleweeds tumble

Stampeding above the grass

 'til gaggle gathers on fences

Darting across roads

 dodging traffic

Safely on their way

 Omaha bound

PEACE

Peace softly flows

 gathers in refreshing pools

Cool to the weary

 quenching to the thirsty

Cascading over stones

 soothes anxious thoughts

Glassy aqua reflects

 calming gateway to soul
