Rocking Chair

        Rocking Chair

Squeaking rocking chair
Telling its story
Many families know
Passed dark nights of soul

Each creek a worry expressed
Released from wood deep in grain
Arms worn smooth over generations
Comfort found in motion

A parent's fear dissipated
A son's anxiety transferred
Therapy of rocking
Cleansing the soul
