Powerhouse

            Powerhouse

Concrete powerhouse
Long abandoned
Gothic and forlorn
Once brought power to the valley

Turbines abandoned half a century
Penstock turned to scrap
Foundations of operators' houses
Holes in floor to afterbay

Silent for a generation
Haunts of the wild
Voices of the past
Whisper in the breeze

Transformed communities
Power stepped up
Synchronizing communities
Altering power structure
