Herd Ways

                Herd Ways

Horses coming in from the pasture
They gather a quarter mile away
At the bottom of the hill
The race up begins

They crest the hill
The lead mare slows
Energy dissipates
As prepare for sharp turn

Into the open face shed
They tumble into place
Dominant mare and gelding
Others take their places in the rain
